    Hey Rick,

For '66 - '67 the distinction between a Chevelle Malibu and a Chevelle SS was small block vs big block... For the most part.
(You could always order the cheapest car with the biggest engine)

My Malibu (and all for those two model years) was/is a small block...

Unfortunately we overbuilt and blew the original matched number 327
So we built up a first gen 350 and dressed as an original L79 325HP 327

The funny thing is in '66 the L79 327 had a stated 350HP, and people bitched that the entry level 396 big block had the same 350HP for a premium price.... So for the L79 in '67 GM only changed the written specs and the sticker on the air cleaner to 325HP to make the big block costumers feel better.... ...and so it goes ....

Nice machine Chuck, even AC. I think you gave me and Randy a ride in that car years ago.

That's beautiful Chuck. When I was about 14 we got one just like that from a friend. When I was nearing 16 it got sold. Hmmm. Guess the old man knew what would happen if I spent much time in that. Took me decades to figure out what he was probably thinking. So I drove trucks and Jeeps we had. But I never lost the lust for those. Always wanted the big block but as I got older, the small block version became the jewel. Yours is perfect, even with the 350.

Sweet Machine. I never had the pleasure of owning a 60's V8 car. If I did it would be a 289, 302, 327 kind of car. Yours is a beauty.

    Cool

    Thanks for the props guys...

I've had the car 32 years, only a few years less than my 911...

It's CA car, built in Fremont, and sold at our local Chevy dealership on Van Nuys Blvd.

I grew up within a short walk of Van Nuys Blvd. ('ground zero' for street racing then)

No doubt I drove by this car on the lot 'cruising the Blvd.' as a kid...

I graduated Van Nuys High in the Summer of '67...
I have my senior patch and button on the floor hump and my tassel on the mirror.
It all seems to work ...

Cheers, and if you're in the West ... Try to stay cool

Chuck, the wheels look like they have more outside dish than normal, is it just my view?

    You're right again Rick...

I bought the car as the third owner completely stock... They came with GM 14" x 6" wheels in black, a beauty ring, and a small (Dog dish) hubcap...

Kind'of'a first thing I did is switch to a set of 15" Corvette 'Rally Wheels' at 7" and 8" with (In my case) tall profile tires to fill out the wheel wells... The wheels are GM Argent silver with stainless beauty rings, and 'Low Hat' '67 Corvette center cap....

I still have an original setup as a spare ...
