    Need Another Suggestion

Hi Again - How does one get these springs sufficiently compressed to complete their installation? Again - I have posted this thread to our brethren on Pelican.

I've tried You-tuber "Mikes Restorations" method using an old modified speed-borer without success. There has to be a simple way - short of taking the assembly to a machine shop. Thanks again for any suggestions.

    Cheers

I use a pin punch, push spring against one side, let it arc up, put pin punch in thru opposite hole in housing, put in open end of spring and lever spring straight, then push pin in as you push punch out.

I hold the spring with vice grips. Push it into the housing using a a Phillips screw driver to hold it in and then push the stock pin in while pushing the screw driver shaft out. Takes a minute or two. Always wear eye protection!!!
