    100L tank details

I purchased a 100L fender fill tank many years ago for my long simmering hotrod project. This was before repros were readily available. It wasn't cheap then, and I've spent even more having it repaired. Finally ready to paint it.

I'm planning at this point to paint it single stage gloss black. Any opinions on that choice?

Should the bottom have schutz like a standard tank?

The only tanks I've seen are the ones on this board

    Best I've seen was this one . . .

Looks to've been schutzed, alright . . . but I'd hold off on any gloss-black

Looks more matt- or semi- to me

    PS Just remember --- you'll also need a sender + special gauge . . .

Thanks guys. Nothing settled after looking over the links though. No schutz on Franks tank, schutz on the other.

Mellowed gloss would be perfect and impossible. Ive fiddled around with the metal air cleaner in my 67S for instance. It seemed way too glossy, so I painted it satin - too dull. My guess is these parts were gloss from the factory and the nice untouched originals we've seen have just been around for 40-50 years.

My tank came with the sender BTW.
