hot air duct 24.5mm on both sides?

    dear all,

I am seeking help for the issue of the 24.5mm
hot air duct in the front compartment.

The hot air is coming via the 50mm hot air duct from the inside and gets split in the front.
According to the schematic the 24.5mm should be connected to the fresh air vent box from both sides.

At my 65 the duct on the driver side was torn, desitegrated to dust when touched. I replaced this today with that brownish duct I do have.

The passenger side is closed at the fresh air vent box and the remaining duct is „pressed-to-close“ at the splitter.

Can you please „show-me-what-you-got“ or explain me the procedure for this topic?
Should it be connected on both, one or none for our early cars without Webasto?

with best regards out of Bavaria
