    68 Cross bar

This is the cross bar for the Webers on my 68L. Am I correct to assume that the lever arm marked in Orange should be straight? Vs the curve it currently has?

sithot , the hot air duct in your picture should have a rubber plug , not a 6mm bolt . The plug is the same as the plugs for the coil bracket holes in the fan shroud on a 356 .

    539 06 116 and superseded 999 703 013 50 are in the parts crypt.

My air duct is threaded just like the Bruce Jennings '67 911-S'. In fact, I may need to look at my 1,2,3 ignition wires now. They are routed properly but I could take up some slack by installing another loom holder as seen in the photo.
John Cramer posted some photos on Pelican years ago and I've attached one which shows a cable of some sort going to the bolt and disappearing over the left side.

Thanks for making me look again!

I'd go along with that too.

Here's what John Cramer (304065) sent to me:

"I think the strap is part of the radio suppression kit— old Grady Clay (RIP) said that the strap went from the lower coil mount screw on the SWB electrical console over to the engine, I assume to the M6 screws on the cam box where the engine tin mounts. Here’s a photo of the straps and the rest of the kit."

I agree with ED , I think this little detail is often wrong , people want to add a loop , strap or something . The '67S sales brochure has a picture of an engine with a rubber plug , no extra ignition wire loop .

The radio suppression ground strap connects to the engine on one of the studs for the timing chain housing cover .
