I just finished a re-rebuild of my 2.2S motor and had trouble with new supposedly oem rod bolts. I couldn’t find Verbus brand as original so I bought the ones I found sold as oem by Autohaus AZ and probably most suppliers . They are too long and hit the cylinder bottoms, oh crap! I also discovered that ARP 2.4-2.7 bolts fit 2.2 rods now as ARP states. I previously read that 2.2 rods had to be drilled to use them. 2.2 bolts have a shank that is a few thousandths smaller than 2.4-2.7 bolts so I assume ARP has reduced the shank diameter compared to earlier versions. Good news for anyone building a 2.2. I found used Verbus bolts in the motor even though it had been rebuilt before I got it with no road miles, an expensive ticking time bomb defused.
