On the following website https://www.recaro.com/feel-performa...ro.html#RECARO under the RECARO AUTOMOTIVE “SPORTSITZ” (1965) section RECARO states:

“Also it [Sportsitz] later came standard [emphasis added] in the new Porsche 911 S for all drivers wanting to combine sportiness and comfort, and was available as a factory-installed option in all other 911 models of the time.”

To confirm this, I consulted with davep. Dave reports he does not see Sportsitz entries on any Kardex until 1967 when they show up as Left, Right or both as installed options for the 911 and 911S. Dave further reported 1967 Sportsitz are not specified in large numbers.

Dave’s findings seem to imply Porsche offered RECARO Sportsitz as a factory-installed, original order option starting with model year 1967 (concurrent with “the new Porsche 911 S”). However, the Kardexs of the time imply it was an available option, not standard on the 911S as RECARO states.

Does anyone see things differently?

Thank you!
