    Spark plug wires

After two decades of 71T ownership I still have a terrible time getting my spark plug wires to fit exactly on my spark plugs. After I replace my plugs, I misalign the spark plug wires, tear them or leave disconnected even though I think they are attached. I know, this is sad as there is plenty of room. Are there any tricks to perfectly align spark plug wires to spark plugs to ensure a tight fit? Seems simple but I can’t be the only one with this problem.

Sorry, zenithblue71T, I do not have an answer, but have shared the experience so bumping your post back to the top.

Does anyone know if applying dialectic grease in the plug wire boots represents a potential remedy?

Not a problem with original plug connectors, is that what you're using?

Sorry if I am high jacking your thread, zenithblue71T. Ed, in my case, I installed a Beru ZEF 309 spark plug wire set.

If this is the 'new' plug wire set those may be the replacement connectors that I agree are problematic. I do not throw away old original connectors, unless the resistance exceeds 3,000 ohms. In addition I have also found them to be very brittle and break easily when trying to remove them. Hard to beat a 50 yr. old original set,,,,,unfortunately.
