    1973 windshield

Hello, I am dealing with a 73 coupe windshield.
This was an old race car with welding all over.
    The glass is aftermarket.

    The glass would pop out.
I’m trying to fix it permanent.

I had to re-do the cowl, it was pretty croocked.

Questions, should the glass fit completely inside the frame?
The glass has a ‘gap’ on top & bottom, shown with yellow arrow.
And glass has an ‘overlap’ on both sides, centered, shown in blue arrow.
(Perhaps the glass is too wide)

If is not supposed to overlap, can I sand or grind the glass narrower?

    The diagram shows no overlap

Me personally I put the seal on the glass and then see how it fits the frame.
