72 Targa stainless band/cap felt placement

Cannot seem to find a picture of where the felt goes under the cap. When I ordered the felt, It came in two strips. Seems like the front will sit a little proud if I place it on the leading edge. In my lifetime I have realized that the simple answers never appear in my head. Thanks

Here's how my '71 looked when I took it apart - felt along the back, wide foam on the front and narrower foam around the vents
