    195/65 VR 15 tires ?

    I did a search here and on Pelican but didn't get much info.for what brands of tires folk are putting on their non rolled , no R Fuch SWB"s.
    Tire Rack doesn't give much to choose from.

    The tires on my car now are still the po's Yoko Avids and I plan on Auto Xing them off so will soon be needing something to replace them.

    Thanks;

    John

    John,

    I convinced Fred Stewart to run 195x60's on his '67-S and it worked out GREAT!!! ..... Fred's running Yok AVS Intermediates (no longer available) on deep 6's

    A pic of his car is the Signal Orange car is on the 'Fred's Project' thread

    Hope this helps,

    I'm running 205/60s and they work fine, maybe the ride is little hard, but other than that...... I however have 15x7s.

    195/60 Yoko AVS ES 100's on 15x6 and I am very happy with the fit. Great performance tire for a fair price, tire rack delivered for about $300.

    Do a search on "tires" here, there have been lots of discussion threads on this.

    Here are a couple to look at -

    John;

    Yeah, I found those but they all pretty much discuss fitting cars that have more flare than mine.
    I was thinking of going to the Yoko AVS db S2 (that and the pirelli P6000 were the only ones that came up on the tire rack search but don't really need the all seasons so maybe those ES 100's are the call. I'll look again for the lower profiles.

    Thanks all;
    John

    I have a NTB "exclusive" version of the db2 in that size on my '70 with 15X6 Fuchs. Stock fenders, somewhere between Euro an USA ride height. I have had no problems with them, including rubbing. Tho PO had lowered the car to the extreme and I was rubbing front and rear with a set of 185x70's, so it is the ride height I would watch closely.

    I haven't tracked the car yet, but in everyday driving they have been great.

    There still are quite a few performance-ish choices out there in 195/65 VR15 if you look around. Tire Rack has a lot of stuff, but not everything... There are at least 4 different Michelins, including a Pilot model that I had before going to 205/60 that were ok, Dunlops, Goodrich and others, including these Fulda's you may not have seen that came out first in a couple of German magazine tests -

    The new Goodrich G-force (which are great tires) also comes in a 195/55, which I bet would be a hoot as a track tire.

    GreenT ;

    I may be missing something but for meTire Rack does not come up with anything other than those db2S's in high perf. 195/65 's

    Aren't 205's too much for a non rolled SWB ? I do believe Mr.T(weed ) is running them (?) I wouldn't want to go to too low a profile.

    Those Fuldas look very nice.I'll look into them .

    Thanks;
    John
