More info - the car is a coupe. I did find a pic of a '72 passenger side rear quarter glass shot with the 69 70 71 Weltmeister placed about one inch up from the bottom of the window frame, 2 inches from the top and about 5 from the very rear curve of the window. Sound correct?

Mine's about 3 1/8" from the trim curve, spaced evenly on top & bottom. Placed there at the factory. But you know, I doubt all were placed exactly the same...probably depends on who applied them, the day of the week, etc.

Anyone know for sure if the dates and placement locations for these decals are correct on our site mentioned above?
I have a '71 car built in May of 1971. According to the chart, I should have style #2 with the placement in the front windshield. But, I can see glue 'haze' left over from a round decal in the rear window.
Also, last weekend at the Dana Point get together, there was an original '71 car which had an original looking Weltmeister decal in the rear window, although I don't know the build date of that car.

Rick,
I have mine where my original was and it's a bit closer then Paul's... about 2 1/4 from the inside of the curve... However Paul's right, there was only tentative consistency in the factory placement.
Tom,
Robert Gross (the maker of the decals) and the Registry spent some time on researching the placements for the years.... But as you well know, there was/is ALWAYS exceptions in Porschedom ...![]()
Hope this helps,

Is it Concours Correct to put my Grateful Dead sticker in the same place?
thanks guys for the responses.
Randy, to answer your question, Gratefull Dead Stickers always go some place 'high' on the rear window, and at any angle (other than straight). I have mine next to my "Jerry Lives" decal.

I should have realized that!
Speaking of Dead stickers, I saw one on a bus from Jerome, Arizona at the VW Classic. It said "Jerome Arizona - we're all here because we're not all there".![]()
