do you guys keep pretty good records of all that is done on the car? do you keep a receipt from the annual dues to the early s reg (for those that have paid).

I'm afraid to open the folders in the file cabinet to measure lately, but I've been measuring by the pound rather than thickness for a while now.

I have two three ring binders from the pevious owner and now I have added a 3rd. I have a folder for the year that I right the amount of the recept on the outside before I put the recept in it , my wife idea so she can at a glance see what has been spent. Lucky it has gotten so long she does not want to take the time to add it up. The little engine work I did this year turned into a big "while I am at it" you know the twin plug to help "emmisions" stuff like that.

I purchased my car from the original owner. He gave me all the doc's and I put them in a binder. I added them all up (1971 - 2000) and they totaled $38,765. The purchase price of the car was another $8,025 (discounted off MSRP). The docs include the original window sticker, the original color chart (looks like he was debating between Bahia Red, Conda Green, Signal Orange, and Pastel Blue - wound up going with Metallic Silver), original loan papers ($236/month for 23 months @8% interest - he was making $480 per month!!), receipt for service work at Vasek Polak on a trip to Calif., the engine mods at Stoddard in 1979, etc.

I have the receipts stuffed into a folder in my office. If I organized them like that, I might by tempted to calculate what I've spent.

I'd rather stay in denial, thank you.

I keep all receipts and historical docs for each of my toys in its own 3 ring binder. Everything is filed in chronological order, with most recent in front.

Took quite a bit of time to set up initially, however, now it's a piece of cake.
    All the best...

Records are for people who plan on selling their car... Actually, I have a file jammed with stuff, all in no particular order. Some day, I'll get organized. I doubt that I saved it all, though...not over 3 decades.

I got Fred Flintstones' famous closet. Anyone old enough to remember that one? (hint; you open it and everything falls on your head).
