Gas Heater /Warm Air Help Please

My '68 is equipped with a Webasto Gas Heater, and I have never turned it on.
This morning however I noticed that the cockpit was unusually warm.
I found warm air coming in from the air ducts by the windshield, there are 3 vents, warm air was coming out from the 2 in the corners, the center one was fine. Of course I checked the lever next to the hand brake, and it was closed; the sliding valves by the feet were closed and they were cold, which leads me to believe the problem is elsewhere. I also donĄt think warm air was coming out the rear nozzles, since my kid was sitting in the back seat and wasn't complaining. There could however be a problem with the cable or the heat control box. How do I access the control box?

After looking around, these 2 vents seem to be connected to the gas heater in the luggage compartment. Could the gas heater be operating without me having turned it on?

If so, what is the best way to disconnect the gas heater (I hear these can be dangerous)? Get rid of the 2 yellow and white wires next to the plug? Disconnect the plug? Both? Or should I go for the fuse box (Fuse 3 I believe)?

Could the warm air be coming from another source? My car also has a rear window defroster.

    Thanks Guys

It's very unlikely the Webasto could be on without you knowing it.

There would be a noisy fan, a fuel/air mixture pump going around and clicking, and other sounds.

    Thanks Neun,

Then it wasn't the Webasto. I'm gona have to go uner the car and look at the control box, it might be stuck.

Henry, heater control box or boxes are stuck or partially stuck. I have the same problem on one of mine. I have to pay attention or I get very hot.
