Does anyone know of a resource that lists numbers of cars produced per year by color and possibly by model?
For example: How many 911E's in metallic blue were built in 1970?
It must be out there, I just keep missing it...

That would be interesting to see. Never heard of a reference with that info. Not that it doesn't exist...

I am pretty sure that information has never been compiled. I think the only way it could be done is to convince those individuals at PCA that have access to the microfilm data (used to produce a CoA) to develope a spread sheet to would show those combinations. It sure would be interesting but I doubt they could be convinced to do this.

The only time this information has been complied on a 'production' run was by Gruber and Konradsheim for their CARRERA RS bible... and that was getting access to all the factory build, sale, and distribution records...

I must admit I felt a bit odd posting the above info without at least again giving ALL DUE CREDIT to the painstaking effort and work that Dr. Thomas Gruber and Dr. Georg Konradsheim put into this book.
If you are at all interested in the RS, or for that matter, what went on on the 'F-Series' production line, and when... this wonderful resource is a must...
Please take the above chart as a teaser to the rest of the 255 pages...
Cheers,

This would be a great way for PCA to add real value to the $45 a year people pay.

It would also be interesting to know the thought processes behind the factory decisions for the numbers of cars painted the various colors. Based on previous sales? What colors moved or didn't?
Given the popularity of silver for Porsche racing models it's odd that silver was not included. Anyone know if there is a special order silver?
Man, I really need to buy one of those books. Haven't finished reading my new EWE books yet though.

if I 'm not mistake the Porsche racing COLOR was WHITE IN THIS TIME PERIOD.Remember the R's WERE WHITE EXCEPT FOR TWO
Which period? 68 or 73? I thought the original Porsche racing color was silver. I know Martini was basically silver. Don't know what Porsche Factory racing colors were for 73RS. Judging by pics individuals seemed to race the colors of the cars they bought.
