RECORD HIGH NOS 901 hood badge on ebay!!

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4590965485

Lee on Pelican has put his NOS 901 hood badge on ebay. It's still in the plastic wrap. It's already north of $500 in bidding with 9 days to go.

    Let's guess the final price.

    My guess is $736.00

In my opinion is this getting out of hand and people on this board might get biased (or depressed) by seeing such prices.

Yesterday a very, very nice one sold for $100 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Origi...13483615QQrdZ1

Today I was 'lucky' myself and got one in a similar nice, nice condition for $60

So for those who are still in search of one, they are around for decent (?) prices.

You did great Richard. That badge looks excellent. I actually prefer a little patina on the badge.

There's always a way for those of us who are not made of money.

By the way, my guess is way low since someone just emailed Lee with an offer to close the auction for $1500!! WOW!

Also Larry had an original badge that looked horrible. A bunch of the enlay was missing. He had it restored and it looks great.

And if I were offered $1500 for one, I'd be buying the mate to my 7R before the saliva was dry on the packing tape!

    Yer Kidding??

I have a hard time believing that Allan sold one of his restored badges for $76, but that's a great deal. He charges over $200 to restore them.

The secret to great buys on Ebay is to search under those names that the enthusiasts don't use, like Emblem, or Logo or Plate. Using words like Crest or Badge makes the sale go significantly higher, because that's where people in the know look.

I'm really happy with my restoration, but if I coulda found an original in great shape for $100, I would have saved my money.
