WTB: MFI airbox pieces for '70E

I'm trying to find a pair of the lower intake 'bowls' located at the top of the MFI stacks. Technically these are probably part of the airbox assembly, but they are mounted to the stacks and contain the intake horns. I'm sure you know what I am referring to, better than I can describe... The ID of the inlet bores is 48mm and I am not interested in the plastic ones.

I am going to modify them with the help of some PMO plates to accept K&N filters & rainsheilds, so condition is not that important, as long as the gasket surface is not too damaged.

EASY wanted $20 each, which seems like a good price, but they did not have the right bore in metal for my needs.

Also, anyone know where I can find the horns I mentioned above? I'll need to replace at least two that have signs of an old bubbly fire from the fuel enrichment circuit.

    Thanks,

Hello: You can mount the PMO air cleaners directly to the mag stacks. You will have to clearance the left one for the barametric pressure diaphram housing on the pump. What kind of trumpets do you need? Are they plastic or metal and what is the bottom diameter? If they are plastic what color are they black or clear/white? Thanks Eric

    Thanks for the reply Eric,

The PMO base plates I have are kinda buggered up from the previous owner, bored out to the extent that the mounting holes for the studs are now just semi-circles, so they won't do the job 'as is'.

My plan is to acquire a pair of 'bowls' and graft them together with the salvagable portion of the plates, which amounts to the outer flange/seat for the filter. By doing that, the left side can have the clearance needed for the pressure diaphragm and the throttle linkage as originally designed. The right side may need to be lower so the filter/rainsheid will allow the decklid to close.

I attached a quick sketch of the cross section view to better explain. The BLACK portion is the existing bowl and the DARK BLUE is the base plate. The grey area of the bowl and the light blue area of the plate will be removed.

As for the horns, they are white plastic. I need to doublecheck the ID when I get home, but the bore on the factory bowl they attach to is 48mm.

    Conflicting Measurements...

The 'horns' (white plastic) have an ID of 38mm.
The 'bowls' (black metal) have a ID of 48mm.
The inake stack (magnesium) bore ID is 48mm.

Is it possible I have the wrong horns for a '70E MFI? It has always run very well and is otherwise original to my knowledge.

Please forgive/correct me if my terms are way off!
