I usually refrain from commenting on "For Sale" cars but I started to download all the pics just in case I ever purchased an 68S. For $75K I would think one would get a more accurate restoration. For example - front bumper, door panels, engine bay and trunk color, decklid hinge color, all US or non-US matching turnsignals, nicely painted air filter housing, etc. Seems to me if you're going to ask that kind of money you would expect...better.
All in all it's a nice car but with the above it tends to have the domino effect...if this is incorrect what else do I have to look for and then have re-done. Then again if I had $75K to spend then I guess I would have additional money to correct these things.

Front Air Dam is wrong as well as the side Deco and the instrument rims are black not chrome and then the matter of the 68 year which was not imported to the US so then the Euro stuff is missing

Bob,
For this sort of money, you should expect something toward a 300 point PCA show car.
Unless the pics are sending my eyes funny,Polo red should be a bit darker,yes?![]()
The colour seems to be either Guards red or tangerine or a mix of the two.
Cheers,

Could it be that someone in Houston has read the comments here? The car is now on e-bay.The color issue would be an expensive issue to get right,if in fact it`s off.Still looks very nice and even better $20,000 cheaper! TFM

Bill why do you think the front air dam is wrong?Originally Posted by Wilywilly
Also, as far as I've seen, instrument rims in a 68 should be black, and the side deco also looks right to me (why do you think it's wrong Bill?) as for the Euro stuff, it has the wrong front turn signals, but I can't see anything else Euro missing, do point it out for me please.
It does have the wrong front spoiler (it should have fog lights) and the wrong steering wheel.
BTW the price seems to have been dropped to $56K.

Also, wrong steering wheel butterfly, no fender reflectors (it's a 68 only thing), and the engine compartment has been sprayed the body color, instead of the correct black. I must say that the car looks to be pretty thoroughly restored - maybe too restored. Everything just looks a little too knew and aftermarket for my tastebuds. I don't know if I would get the feeling that I am buying a 68 911S when everything looks "too new".
As for the front spoiler, I am generally against it on the SWB's, but having wound my 67 911 up to 135mph + on the Autobahn a few times, things start to feel a little shifty - especially in a headwind. I would probably bolt on the original front bumper for show, and mount the the spoiler for go...
