70E updated to SC "look" on ebay

I haven't seen this before, and it is surprising that we do not see more of them - a 70E updated to look like an SC.

    on ebay now

Has anyone else seen cases where older cars were updated with newer looks?

It was pretty common in the 80s. You see them on Ebay pretty regularly, especially early cars that were updated to turbo bodies. Seems like a nice car at a nice price that would be relatively easy to reconvert to a long hood, etc.

When I owned my first 911 - a 73 - in the early 80's I wanted to buy, in the worst way, the conversion kit to make it look like a newer safety bumper car. Couldn't afford it, otherwise I would have!

It does look like it is a nice car and shouldn't be too hard to recussitate ....

just when you think something is old hat, it becomes retro, thence desirable.

    Karl, I've seen many. Here's a lovely improved '66.

Please tell me the '72S has since been "unimproved".

Ok. Enough pictures! I can't take any more! Did these "kits" require that anything was cut on the original car? I see "re-converting" one getting real expensive, real fast.
