If you are like me, we are always on the look out for those cool barn finds. Sometimes, it seems a bit like a myth and it would never happen to us. However, here is a great opportunity to own such a car. If it weren’t for the fact that I already have 6 cars, I would snap this up and drive it to the next R-Gruppe event!!

A good friend of mine bought this car about 12 years ago from a woman who was the original owner. Although he is not a Porsche fanatic like me, he fell in love with the color and the timeless quality of the car. The original owner purchased the car new from Hagestad Porsche (the only Porsche dealer in Colorado at the time) in 1972. The Gulf Blue is the original color and we think might still be the original paint but I am not sure.

The lady who purchased the car took excellent care of the car. In fact, after its 12 month warranty expired, the same independent Porsche mechanic has looked after this car and still does to this day. This car has ever record from day one as well!

This car came with factory air, which is not currently installed, but does come complete with the car. Also, the original Blaupunkt Radio still works. Everything is complete and there is zero rust on the car.

The motor was rebuilt on 10/89 with 89,600 miles on the odometer. The car comes with its original US headlights as well.

There are some interesting notes by the original owner including her comment that she couldn’t afford the “E” or “S” at the time so she bought the “T”.

There are only a couple of small issues. When the current owner bought the car, there was a dent/scratch near the oil fill cap. You can see this in the pictures. A paintless dent guy can probably get this out but there may be a scratch still. I don’t think the original owner wanted to have someone paint the car and ruin the original paint job. Also, the day the current owner bought the car, he forgot to use the hand brake and it rolled down his driveway into a parked car and damaged the rear panel behind the license plate. He had the panel fixed, but never painted because he was also afraid the paint shop would have a hard time matching the color. There is a crack in the dash which there are several pictures of. Finally, the weather stripping around the doors is a bit tired and probably could use some new rubber. That’s about it!

The top was recently rebuilt and is in great shape.

As seen in the pictures, all the books and records are included with the sale as well as any spare parts.
