One & All:
In your learned opinion ,can you offer any thoughts on the suitability of the Dual Tip Dansk and the M&K sport and/or 911R mufflers for a 67S? [ ie fit,
sound,performance,mods req'd]
Thanks,

A friend just ordered and we will be installing an MK sport exhaust on his 73 with webers...I will post my findings on this one. My sport mufflers are Monty -- Im quite happy with the build quality, fit and sound on these vs. the Dansk.
Although, the easiest and BY FAR the cheapest option is to make your own like I did on my 68...Just get the muffler, weld on some stainless tips, get-er cleaned by sand blasting and or bead blasting, paint up the non-shiney parts and go. Less than $100. The fit is perfect on the DIY muffler and the sound is nice with you being too loud or intrusive. Although the build quality is done by you then, so that is undetermined...![]()
They will all work well on your weber carburated car, although most need to be retuned for the lack in back pressure.
Here is a thread on the how to...I did a set-up simillar to Cosley:

I second the "make your own" deal. Use the old Upfixing article as a guide and modify your current muffler to a 2-out (or even a 1-out) sport job.Originally Posted by mjmoran

Michael,
NICE! What size pipes are those? Is it possible to modify a muffler to have the pipes exit under the bumper guards without body work and those size pipes?

I've got a Dansk sport and Webers with watershields on my 2.4. The added sound from the intakes with the shields as opposed to stock aircleaner REALLY surprised me... awesome sounds! That 2nd to 3rd shift at redline is pure LeMans soundtrack magic!
I still have the sound insulation on both sides of my rear bulkhead, the sport muffler didn't add as much noise (droning) to the cabin as I expected, but it is very loud ouside the car. Not megaphone loud, but well over halfway there from stock. I love the setup - both looks and soundwise... but have not seen any performance gain.

I installed the Dansk a couple of years ago and enjoyed the sound and look of the "two out" set up. It was the SS version and really looked the business.
I recently installed the original stock muffler to see the difference and realized that I prefer the stock set up more. Maybe I'm getting old, but the sport muffler sound was getting to me. I guess I prefer stealth over obvious. I really didn't notice a performance difference other that the car seems torquier down low with the stock pipe, and quicker up high with the twin pipe set up. I think back pressure has something to do with it. I do feel the car runs a little better with the single pipe.
Enjoy the process. It's where all the learning takes place. Good Luck.

Hello: If you make a sport muffler use stainless steel for the pipes and use 2.25 or 2.5 dia. material. This makes a big difference in throttle response and power. I have not put one of the mufflers I make here on a dyno yet since I want to try different air cleaners and boxs to get the best power. I know with the 2.0 and 3.0 engines that the sport muffler makes more seat of the pants power and lowers 0-60 times as well. Thanks Eric
Bob,
The pipe dia on these are 2.25 stainless (I agree with Eric on this one). They give a nice purposeful look and work well on a 2,0 motor. Not sure on the 2,7 as you have though -- only a dyno will tell. As you can see from this angle, there should be no problem with fitting these under the overriders, although it would be much louder than my set-up. You can also do some tuning by the length of the pipes. Mine are quite long (12.5 in) versus most people have them a bit shorter. I like the extra length and the sound is fantastic.
Cheers,
Michael

Ha...that's a sweet looking setup there and that pic gives you the feeling of "go ahead, make my day" starring down those twin barrels. The sound must be a thang of beauty.![]()

Has anyone experience with that kind of sport exhaust system?
It’s the original sport exhaust for 911 1967 and 1868, as described in the << Information Regarding Porsche Vehicles used for Sports Purposes >> (W351) and was used for the Sport Kit II. No muffler at all, no street permission, for race purpose only!
I will try it.....I think you will hear the sound across the Atlantic....
