Found Some Cool Vintage Race Parts

Today I picked up some really cool old vintage racing gear with History.

American Racing Mags Magnesium - Early 70s from what I was told they were on the
Ertl 1970 911. Then purchased by Mark Thompson for use on his race car years ago. He originally started racing in Minnesota.
For as old as these wheels are they are really in amazing shape. I wonder what they would look like on my 73 . Or are they strickly for keepsake status?

The wheels came with the lug nuts too!

Also an Early Momo Carrillio Steering wheel. I had to install the
Momo just to see what it looked like. However I'm debating what to do with the A-R wheels.

And some really old Racing Sway Bars.
A set of early Headers with Megaphones and Cross Brace. an Early Fiberglass Duck Tail from Sportsman? - Never heard of them.

    What do you guys think?

Just thought i would share it with you guys.

    Thanks
    Jon

    Shweet!

    Nice find. I am envious.

I would however check those wheels really, really well. I have seen mag wheels corrode leaving a sponge like texture. You think the wheel is sold, but it is not. Seen two break in action like that. Both parties said the wheels 'ballanced funny'.

Hate to burst your bubble a little, but the wheels are aluminum, not mag. Still a nice find!

Aluminum or magnesium . I still like them alot. I did a little search cornpanzer and you seem to be
the expert on these wheels? Any info that you have you could provide me with?

Like fiting on a 73 narrow body and value?

    I would appreciate it!

    Thanks

They have the same offset as the standard 7" Fuch, so whatever tires will work in that combo will work great with the Americans too. Curt Egerer just put some 7" Aluminums on his 71 Targa, perhaps he will post a pic.

Value as always with these esoteric parts depends on who happens to be looking at the time and how bad they want them.

I currently have 15x6 Fuchs. with 205-60-15 tires. Would these tires work
on the new rims or would I have to get all new tires?

    Thanks

Jon - those will work. But if your car is lowered much beyond standard ride height, you MIGHT need to roll the fender lips (just like you might need to with 7x15 Fuchs - the offset is the same). I'm running the original size 185/70-15 on mine and they fit/look good. But I can see the potential for clearance issues with wider tires.

As far as value, mine were bead-blasted and had polished lips and I think I paid around $1200 for the set. That's without lugnuts - those are VERY hard to find. I wound up making them.

I had some similarly built sway bars a long time ago. Compared to today's (or the '80s for that matter) technology, they seem ridiculous.
