    Period harness bar options?

    I need to install a harness bar for my project and am looking for some options similar to the one shown in the recent S/T thread. It depicts a square bar secured to the bosses on a top rear shelf. '72 and later tubs do not have these bosses. I have an R roll bar from TRE but would rather not install the harness bar on the roll bar. I would prefer to do an installation such as welding the harness bar between the C-pillars right above the rear shelf. Are there any period installations like this or anything similar?

    Since you have a 72 you can use a harness bar mounted to the B pillar seatbelt shoulder mounts. The rear dash is not a bolt in option unless you wanted to drill and mount eyelets which I would not do.

    Don, do you have a picture of this? Was this something that was done in '72 or thereabouts? Also, was a harness bar ever run separately like that with an R roll bar in place? Thanks.

    Harness bars are a relatively new idea and were not done in the day. Check your Performance products catalogs for these. I am not sure what you want to do but the safest for the track is a roll bar or cage with a harness bar as part of the structure. Good luck.

    Hi Bill, I am selling my three inch - five point harness set. It includes the bar that bolts into the original seat belt "B" pillar. I would sell the bar separate. Any interest?
