Looks like Middleburg, VA to me? I am right? If that's the one that Dave Olympi had it went cheap but it was about 6 years ago.

    Best,

Off topic I know, but were the early style headrests shown in this car optional on the '67 sport seat as well as the standard? The interior in that car is just stunning.

    Perfect!

How I wish that I jumped on this one when Rick was selling it, yes, about 6 years ago. It's probably the finest original '67S in existence. If I could just turn back time ...

    It is exceptional!!

That car is really stunning but as far as the absolute best???

That's a hard one to say.

Chuck Stoddard has his original owner Black 67 sunroof S that is fully optioned that he shows in Preservation Class at the Pea raids.

I'd like mine to look like either of them.

Congrats on the quick sale of the 356C.

Finding a 67S like the one pictured is going to be very tough.........and then talk about price!

    Things that were

Still looking for the SWB and no, it doesn't have to be an S. Speaking of S's. In the days not too long before the internet hit, I sold my '72S. It took months and months to sell. And it was a nice car, even nicer than the C I sold. My daughter and I won 2nd at the Automotion Concours (remember them?). It went to Japan. As I recall the selling price was $17,000. The founder of the R Gruppe almost bought it. He got a low miles '74 Carrera instead. Imagine!

Thanks, making progress and still looking

Thank you to knowledgable S Registry members, who shall go unnamed and who have provided some very high caliber leads. To members who know of a car fitting the bill that is available, please let me know. All responses will be strictly confintial.

To a question earlier on this thread, I believe the location of the the above photos is Conneticut.

Contest! Identify the locale, "museum" below. The winner will recieve a 911 flywheel bolt

I'm in the Washington DC area and have a swb 68 911 coupe with a Sportomatic. It's a project car I bought off of Ebay. Faded burgundy paint is responding to rubbing and polishing compound, was I think originally Bahama Yellow but if the burgundy is not original it was done right as paint is not thick, no overspray on rubber, etc. Floorpan has surface rust from water trapped under the horse hair padding the factory used for insulation with a 6 inch square hole under driver's knee. Otherwise rust free including rockers, doors, front pan, smuggler's box. Had sat for a long, long time in the west Texas sun. Dash is pretty bad, headliner has a few holes but is somewhat reasonable. Black interior, carpets, door panels are ok. Full gauges, am/fm/cassette. Kinda rusty chrome wheels. Not banged up. Best thing is the motor was completely rebuilt in 1993 with beautiful Webers, oil fed chain tensioner, updated ignition, new heat exchangers and muffler, etc. I will soon install a new fuel pump and get her started. Hardly like the picture you included with your note! A fun project so far! If you would like pictures let me know at mschnittker@att.net.
