    Value of a '65/66 911

Hello. I was hoping you guys could help me out. I've had this 911 for the past year and a half. I'm having a hard time getting a good idea of the value of this car. I realize there are a lot of variables associated with what a car is worth. I know a lot of you like to discuss these matters frequently that's why I'm asking here.

I put the car up for sale earlier this year but then changed my mind. Mostly because I think I'd have a hard time finding as nice a car to replace it. Anyway, here's the story:

Built in Nov '65. 2-owners prior to me (Euro delivery - one family). 66K miles. Rebuilt heads, re-ringed, new syncros done by JW. Glass-out repaint. Numbers match CoA. All original except headlights. Excellent interior. The only rust issues are in the battery box area, the port rocker near the jack receiver, the starboard dogleg in the wheel well, and some light surface rust on the aft edge of the floor pan, with a solid torsion bar tube and excellent panel fits all around.

I included a few pictures. They're the most recent ones I've taken. Any ideas? Thanks.

A restored, concourse standard, original LHD ex Netherlands car sold yesterday in New Zealand on the Trade Me site for Approx $NZ29K. Dont know the chassis # but believe it was in the first 235 - which in the 64 production year, is that correct?

Cars that were built in Nov 65' are considered 1966 model year.
The rare first few hundred 901 cars you were refering to were built in 1964 and early 1965.

    Tonto,
That seems low to me. NZ$29,000 is only US$19,400, and a concourse quality SWB 911 between 1965-68 would easily go for more than that. Any concourse quality 911 from any pre 73 year for that matter would be worth substantially more. The only thing holding Nate's seemingly original car back from being worth more are the rust issues.

Bob you find it here. Reluctantly does the seller not give the body and engine number. May be Tonto knows since he also knew that it came from the Netherlands?

By the way have you seen the interior? Like the suitcases from then.

    Nate's 65/66 value

Nate Y. a sister red car to yours is now on the market.
As a comparison, it is June/July 1965, but without the rust issues. I saw the car a few years ago and it was a complete, well done restored body with low 60K miles. Just a few pampered miles have been put on it since then. It is offered at $23K.

(Richard, we should probably take the NZ car to a seperate thread. Nate's car deserves it's own conversation)
