It's just great to know another one of the 1964 cars is still around.

It's a restoration candidate, thats for sure.

Looks like someone went to Earl Scheib and ordered up a resale red redo!

    Interesting question in that auction:

    Question & Answer Answered On

Q: Hi we have a 65 912 for sale in 912 parts on e bay. is it worth a lot too??? maybe i have to low a price please help ! thanks for your time and expertise,Cheers! Apr-04-07

A: I am not an expert on porsche prices.I know that 912's are not worth as much as the 911's.I know the 1965's are not worth as much as the 1964 911's.There are just so few 1964's that the prices are headed up.I know of only one other 1964 911 for sale currently in the USA and it is a 901 and is really rusted out, doesn't run and is priced at $65,000.00. I think the prices are being driven up by the Europeans and that they will continue up ,anyway thats my opinion.

JP, that color number 6402 is Ruby Red. (Not resale red...Ruby red - say after me r-u-b-y .

At least it wasn't repainted to another color.

Most of the red cars in 1964 were in 6407 Signal Red.

    Bob,

The comment wasn't so much about the color itself as it was about the quality. It just looks so fresh and gooped on compared to the rest of the car. The paint code tag looks like it took a beating from a painter in a real hurry to make her look "purdy".
