    RM Classic Car Auction

Just watched the 1971 Hemi Cuda convertible go for $2.2MM. Is that for real? A Plymouth for $2.2MM. Buyer was a hedge fund manager. His annual income was close to a $1 billion last yr. Guess it was chump change to him.

I really don't want him managing my money.
If he makes $1 billion a year, he must be doing something right.

As a matter of fact I would care less what they would think about my personal spendings

I loved Ken Gross' comment after the 'cuda sold. "If I were spending $2.2 million on a car it wouldn't be a Plymouth". Ken said, "I would more than likely be buying a Ferrari or Dusenberg for that kind of money".

Interesting that a previously raced Shelby Mustang GT 350 that was beating up on Corvettes at the time did not meet reserve at $700K. Apparently, one had sold a few months earlier for $900K.
