These last of the car that showed up at the Parade on Monday...

I'm think'n this was more in it's element about a week before.......

Again, the proud owner said these are 'hand formed' fender flares.......

    Cheers,

    As usual...great shots Chuck!

    It's all good...

Speaking of Cal Speedway...I just wanted to give a shout-out for VARA: We're running Cal Speedway next weekend (July 14th-15th). So, come on out and roast in the hot sun with the rest of us... We're doing a 1-hour formula car enduro on saturday-late in the afternoon (not sure exactly what time, but it's after we run all the "normal" groups). So that oughta be interesting.

I will have the Homemade 911 on display at the garage area (adjacent to VARA registration) for anyone who'd like to see and hear it...I'm not entered as a driver. I'll be crewing for a friend with an FC VanDiemen. nonetheless I'd be delighted to show the 911 up close and personal

    Cheers
    Thom

That's Mark Wichman's car. I remember when he first showed up with it in San Diego (back in the last century ). It was a beater '71T that he bought for $4K. It's come a long way since then.

I'll give ya a 10-4 on that Tom, in addition....Mark was my very first instructor back in 4/03 at the SDR-PCA Performance driving school....a Helluva nice guy, and a GREAT in-car instructor....I still gotta tip my cap to him...in fact after the PDS, I sent a letter in to all the head honcho's commending Mark and advising them what an asset he was ( and still is...) to the PCA-SDR performance driving school and instructor program.

Back then his car was a still a performance demon, but a visual,,,,ummm...

let's say not so pretty.....oxidized red with matching primer spots with the magic marker writing "SH*T-BOX RACING" above each door on the roof right along the rain gutters. It confused me back then........ but I figured it out soon enough

Those who have had the benefit of Mark Wichman's driving instruction and on-track wisdom are a safer and more compertent track driver as a result.

I feel lucky to be one of them. And all the time, effort and shear laps you put in with me Tom, well, ....that's for another very respectful and hat-in-hand post of it's own.

    cheers !!

I think Chris Tompson pulled the metal on those flares for him. Didn't he stitch the flares on your silver car Tom?
