    1965 911 for 71500

    Has everyone seen the results of the Christies aucion at Greenwich Conn. A 1965 911 sold for $71,500.00. The description said It was a driver, not a show car. The results were in te new Automoble magazine. http://www.thecityreview.com/s07ccar.html

    Yes I saw the catalogue and it wasn't showroom material at all, but still nice...

    I spoke to a colleague of mine who works in the car department at Christie's and the result was a bit of a mystery to her...

    What I thought was possible is that 1965 is the only year you can homologate a 911 for classic racing in Europe, and they have become very hard to find...so perhaps two European racers got carried away....
