    Racing number light

    Pic from Ernie W's 911r Pbase site.
    Has anyone ever seen one of these or similar fitted??
    Any pictures?

    They are fitted on many of the race cars from the period including the 911R, 904, etc. I believe they were required to race at Le Mans and other races taking place at night. I'll try to dig up a pic.

    I think those were license plate lights on a German car. I should have one laying around.

    They are BMW 2002 licence plate lights, I have them on my C3. You can get them in quite a few places. I might change mine for some of TREs black ones, when I get around to ordering them (but I wil keep the old ones).

    '73 Le Mans Nite light

    gilbert911,

    I believe this is what you are looking for; it is a picture of the #63 911 from Le Mans in 1973 (Barth & Loos Drivers). Sumner

    They used them into the 80s on 935s etc, but all the ones I have seen fitted were screwed directly into the door, not on a bracket. Most were as that pic IIRC - facing straight down. I probably have some pics, though unlikely to be great ones.
