Has anyone ever seen one of these or similar fitted??
Any pictures?

They are fitted on many of the race cars from the period including the 911R, 904, etc. I believe they were required to race at Le Mans and other races taking place at night. I'll try to dig up a pic.

I think those were license plate lights on a German car. I should have one laying around.

They are BMW 2002 licence plate lights, I have them on my C3. You can get them in quite a few places. I might change mine for some of TREs black ones, when I get around to ordering them (but I wil keep the old ones).

gilbert911,
I believe this is what you are looking for; it is a picture of the #63 911 from Le Mans in 1973 (Barth & Loos Drivers). Sumner

They used them into the 80s on 935s etc, but all the ones I have seen fitted were screwed directly into the door, not on a bracket. Most were as that pic IIRC - facing straight down. I probably have some pics, though unlikely to be great ones.
