I am attempting to locate a source for the white plastic drive rivets used on early 911 threshold step plate. The Porsche part # for the black ones is
999 591 550 40 if this helps.
Thanks,
Tom Scott

What's a "threshold step plate"? Could you post a picture?

Just got mine from Stoddards in the mail. OE Porsche part and so cheap I bought extra just in case.
You need to call them to order because the part # doesn't come up on their web site.
Don't have my part # handy but I can get it for you when I get home.

Tom Scott who restores 356's??
They seem to alternate what color they carry under that part number. It used to be that they only had the white, and black was unavailable.
Heard that Napa has them, bring them one, and perhaps they can find a match.
If that doesn't work you could also try ebay...![]()

Soak them overnight in white Rit dye, and I believe that the nylon will soak up the color.

Eric
Thanks for the help, greatly appreciated.

And yes, I have been know to restore a 356 or two and now I am adventuring into the later models, just takes me a few years to figure things out.
Hi,
Can anyone confirm what years used the plastic rivets on the threshold plate. I have seen them on a 1970 car.
Thanks in advance
Alan

Did you run out of 356's to restore..... I've been a member of the 356 Registry since 1985, seen some of your work and I would say it's pretty darn nice!

Hi Eric, thanks for the kind words. I have decided to broaden my horizons into the early 911 world, 356's are too valuble to drive and frankly aren't as much fun.
