I've searched, but i haven't found any info regarding the refinishing/resilvering of the early lenses that have silver trim. Mine are in great shape except for the silver trim. does anyone have any tips for doing this right.
regards,
al

I have seen a silver product which is made of small flakes. Once laid/painted on a surface they mate and form a uniform finish. Availability might be through craft stores, but a really good automotive detail shop may know a superior method. I have only seen this used on indoor furniture and have no idea of durability for automotive uses, but perhaps this might spark someone else's thoughts.

If it was me I would look in the Astronomy (it has been a long time for me but hopefully Sky and Telescope is still in publication) magazines for who silvers telescopic mirrors. They should be able to help you out.Originally Posted by X-Faktory

Hi Al,
Try

as they have a lot of solutions for this type of application.
Good luck, Tom
Tom,

Maybe they can help you out.
