    Screen washer reservoir

A simple question, is the screen washer reservoir only held in place by the seal placed on the bottle neck?

The bottom of the reservoir I have seen has to be placed placed between the metal lids so no fore and aft movement is experimented.

    Thanks.

Yes, I just refurbished both of mine (69E, 73T) and they mount just as you described.

Don't think they will ever see water again But without them it looks incomplete.

    Cheers,

    Tom

    washer pump attachment

Anybody have a trick to attaching the washer pump frame to the plastic bottle on a '73? Seems like one of the more frustrating items on the car. Thanks,

    Gordon,

    It's a pry-on interference-fit ...

    If I remember correctly;

The 'dome' that's molded into the plastic bottle has a small indent in the top of it (or maybe the bottom) start with the circle-void of the pump bracket opposite the indent then force the rest of the void over the dome using a small flat screw driver in-under the void onto the indent ...... I think that's the deal...

BTW - The more times you have the two apart, the easier they fit back together…ask me how it know...

Hope this helps, good luck, and let us know how you do....

the resevoir neck has a rubber ring to secure the top thru the fill hole and there is a tab modeled in the bottom of the resevoir that fits between a metal mounting tab that keeps it from sliding around.

washer pump is a bear to attach. watch that you do not crack the tank when you try to push it on.

I froze water inside and then was able to push the pump on without crushing the tank

Anyone have a source for one of these? The application is supposed to be a 1967, 1968 911/912 washer tank.

I think that the shop manual should read, "Position washer pump. Curse into place." The frozen water trick sounds interesting.
