    Steel lugnuts

    I just wire brushed the rust and brake dust off some old steel lugnuts and I'd like to protect them. Was there any kind of factory finish applied?

    Rich, I used my Caswell plating set to zinc plate them and then Gold cad.

    are you happy with the caswell kit?
    did you buy the rectifier?
    has it been durable?

    The ones on my race car are plain steel, maybe black oxide.

    Rich...I have used clear lacquer to keep them from rusting...works just fine....
