Did anything happen with the 700 mile 1970 2.2 S ?
There was talk on this board of getting a cd/dvd made to record its virgin state.
Did this ever occur or has this time warp gone to ground again ?
Cheers,
Dennis.![]()

Chuck; thank you very much for checking on the 700M 2,2S. I have recently bought a 2,2S and will have some work ahead of me.... If possible I would also like to buy a CD/DVD.

Sure, I'd like a CD too....
BUT
First, somebody has to make the CD!
Will the Owner allow access to photo the car?
Where (roughly) is the car located?
Who has a digital camera with a good lighting setup?
- and a good close-up lens (this usually means an SLR)?
- and knows how to use it?
Who knows exactly what will be the critical pics to get?
Will any dis-assembly be required to get the real critical pics?
If so, can that be scheduled for when the Owner is servicing that part of the car?
{I assume the owner will not just hand over the car to be pulled apart to a stranger...!}
This effort will try to be coordinated sometime after the holidays...
Both owner and car our part of our Early 911 SoCal community, and there should be no problem with access.
Foremost will be the care taken to keep the absolute integrity of the car, and then the quality of the documentation...
The coverage I'm hopping for first is:
Full interior and exterior, trunk (w/carpet and spare removed), floors (w/carpets removed), all 4 wheel wells (w/wheels removed), engine compartment (w/air cleaner removed)... and all books, tools, and docs.
That in itself will be ALLOT of information.....![]()
Again, the car's integrity is paramount, we are just not sure how 'deep' the owner will allow disassembly........ think about it, would you? …..![]()

Please stay tuned for more.......![]()

We should all chip in to buy Randy Wells a plane ticket and accomodations to go down and shoot that car wthin an inch of its life. His skills and domain knowledge make him the perfect candidate. Randy, consider this a nomination.![]()
