    First 911S ever ?

    First 911S ever ?
Not sure car was already discussed on board.
Got recently hold of motor/chassis pics from german vendor.
edited: will ask for chassis number.
    For sale:http://www.gt-classic.com/911_S.html(no affiliation)

    911S.
"First registered 1966 as Porsche "factory experimental car", model 911S.
Equipped with S transmission, stabilisators and S-brakes rear and front.
silvermetallic (prototype color) with red interior, Golde sunroof, tinted windows. (but no S-trim ?)
Motor has pre-serie/protoype number 900 032 (from 1963/64) but 901/02 stamping (used in serie for 67S).
    S Motor is actually older than well known pre-serie/prototyp Nr. 7 (900 114) ..."

    Chassis 306630

Looks like they replaced original serial motor at factory to mount 900 032 (1963/64) for experimental purposes.
Porsche Classic confirmed (August 2007) experimental motor was mounted at chassis on 22.dec.1966 therefore "matching numbers" according to factory.

However, this means car was finished within 1967 model year.
So what was its purpose ? 911R ?

    Wink Experimental Engine

I see that the engine number is still "framed" by two stars although it comes out of the experimental department.

I need to go and re-photograph the number on the 2.4S prototype engine placed in the Siffert car, as my initial photos were blurry, but it certainly didn't have the stars...I wonder if it was common practice or not....
