As far as I am aware it was the 1969 2.0 E & S mfi models

How do you tell whether you've got CDI or not? Am looking to get a tacho rebuilt and need to specify the ignition type.
Grateful for any tips.
While I'm asking basic questions can anyone tell me what the difference is between the ignition types?![]()
Thanks.![]()

My 67 had a Delta MK 10 installed in 1968 according to the records. I still have it along with the instructions for installation.
It was a pretty common practice as an ignition update.

Thanks Raj!
My car had a Delta Mark Ten installed in 1968. The paperwork for the installation is in the cars records.

Hi Tom'
My 67 had a delta installed when I purchased it. The tach never worked until last year I bought an inducer from Fritter. Did the tach work on your car, I assume it did. How did the dealer wire the tach to work in 67?

Good morning, Tom. I wrote "had" because it's off the car right now. I'll probably need an "inducer" as well when I reinstall it sometime this summer.Originally Posted by tomkirkcis
FWIW; I also have a 6 Volt Delta new in the box.

I am curious as to why you removed it and what is prompting you to reinstall? I know there are some that think the original kittering igition is every bit as good as a CDI, but I can't believe that. I have toyed with the idea of removing the Delta and installing the Bosch 3 pin cdi or an msd, but the cars runs fine with the Delta and it seemed period correct. The service bulletin seals the stamp of approval on the installation. Were you running the car without CDI or had you tried a Bosch or other CDI. If you did I am curious if there is any difference in how the car runs, and if the old delta seems to compare to the Bosch unit. My gut tells me the Delta gets the job done, but the Bosch is probably better.
If you need help with the wiring or tsch, let me know. If you do not have the tach adapter, start looking now. It took me two years and Fritter giving up on the unit to find mine.
