Hi, once again guys I need some knowledge from the experts:
Is this an original early (orange) crest? Or is it a fake...?
Thanx!

It appears to be an original that has had the orange enamle removed and has been painted. Not sure though.

As far as I know the production run of late orange bar hood crests had the parts number on the back, like yours have. Or maybe a production run with orange bars for spare part sales? I do not think the early orange bar crest had the part number. I have the same one which have lost all the gold plating.

John, I think yours never was plated. This happened after the enamel process and then after the plating the pins were then soldered on. Not before. I think you might have a mid process badge there which I think is really cool. Either that or the pins were removed and then the entire badge was acid dipped to remove the plating and the pin solder. Don't know what that would do to the enamel though.
I agree that I think they are both original but, of the later production run though. The original early badges did not have the part number.

I have one from my old 69, I tried to polish it, all of what was left of the gold came off and it was left with the copper plating underneath. It came out looking just like yours, I think thats what you have.
