Cleaning and preserving vinyl and leather

What is the best way to clean and preserve the vinyl and leather on a travel kit that I just got? Everything is in very good shape but the leather strap is beginning to crack and the vinyl has some dirt and is drying out. Should I use the same stuff for original vinyl seats?

    Thanks,
    Alan

If leather is very dry you might leave an amount of leather oil/grease on for approx. 24-48 hours on BACKSIDE of leather strap to let the material regain its natural elastic quality. Then brush off all material left and not soaked in.
Check first that leather oil/grease is not changing original leather color.

Vinyl: a mild hand soap/water mixture and a brush to clean prior to apply the vinyl protection product.

You might consider to never "over"-clean an item to retain its patina and historic value.
