Anything is possible ! - I've had COA's with the wrong engine number.

I got a COA from Porsche once that told me the car was actually a Chevy Nova![]()
OK, so I didn't but they are notorious for erroneous data on these things, even showing options that did not appear until several years later. Would not surprise me to know someone received one suggesting the wrong color.....or was it a really nice, glass out/fenders off re-spray in a different color.![]()

My COA on my soft-window targa said that the car was a Karmann Coupe?!!
I must live in a cave. I don't get why anyone would bother paying good money for a certificate that's faulty. Would that money not be better spent buying a round of brews at a Porsche gathering?![]()

I have at least two original Kardex sheets which are not 'correct'.
On one the transmission is off by 2 number (an 8 instead of 6 for the last digit). From the other is the engine number off, instead 961 it mentions 962.
Of course this is different from bizarre combinations you sometimes read re. the COA.
Richard
The COA I recently received from Porsche listed my VIN # as ******5
instead of ******S.
I called them and faxed them a copy and they are correcting it at their expense![]()

The first time I got the COA (the italian equivalent, actually) for my 73 2.4S it stated it was built in black, with sunroof and for the US market.
I protested and it was corrected (i.e. viper green, no sunroof and italian delivery).
Andrea
the thing that bothers me is if you can correct the COA,
then its pretty useless, isn't it?

Yes Robert, I have spoken with PCNA on a few ocassions and they were shall I say pretty receptive to suggestions on corrections. Best bet is factory Kardex.

I have no problem with the theory that all men are created equal.
But after that moment you are on your own and nobody owes you a damn thing.
