Has anyone used the replacement deco rubber trim for the front/rear bumpers from Pelican, Stoddard's, etc. with success? I want to make sure that it looks and fits like the original before spending $$$ on it...
Thanks

I just bought the Porsche brand and paid more because it's still availble and who knows for how long.
I have yet to find aftermarket deco that fits correctly. The aluminum doesn't match the curvature of the bumper, and the rubber insert is loose in the deco channel. As longballa has said, buy it from Porsche, the slightly higher price is well worth it knowing it will fit first time. Be aware that some dealers also sell aftermarket, you need to specify OEM. I have learned to never buy aftermarket if it is still available from Porsche. Front trunk seal is a perfect example, you can take a perfectly fitting front lid, install an aftermarket seal and I guarantee you it will stand proud of the fender edge. The non-Porsche rubber is too hard, doesn't compress properly when the lid shuts. We're all in big trouble as these things become NLA.

Aftermarket front bumper deco is in three pieces, Porsche's is in one..

I bought S-trim for the front bumper for my 71T from Rennspeed. One piece alu. with one piece rubber strip. The fit was good and its very similar to the original. They used www.baxglobal.com for shipping to Norway.

That's good to know John, I'll give theirs a try next time. Do you have a contact number handy, I'm sure I should know them, but I guess I don't.

Any thoughts on this? I worry about buying all this and having a horrible time fitting two completely different manufacturers together...

I haven't yet had to mix and match, so I don't know the answer. I've saved old OEM deco, and in the future it looks like I'll be attempting to restore original pieces that are no longer available. We knew it would come to this.

You guys have been talking about the "Wide S" deco. How about the early "Small" deco? Repo vs. NOS? How good is the Repo?
And does someone have a Factory Part No. for the "Small" early deco for the front bumper, "Euro" style with no overriders?
Thanks,
John
