    Thumbs up VARA @ the Speedway

    On the way home from my Great Niece's 6th B-day I stopped in at the VARA event at California Speedway....

    Met up with good friends and members Elsa and Chris M., and Lars and Mona...how cool is THAT...

    The Irish Green '67S is raced by our own Fred Trueman, the data advisor to this club. Fred's been championing this 911 forever... and he's always 'right in there'. For some reason 'they' mistakenly started him in the back of the grid for the race... Old Fred picked up 3 places on the first lap....

    The black car in the garage runs in the 2.5 class and is one of the all time BEST sounding 911's I've EVER heard...

    Now here's one...

    Rick Clementi, the guy who won the Alfa race in his tri-colored GTV, was the crew chief on Charlie Thieotte's tri-colored GTA 2.5 TransAm car I helped with in '72.

    Rick now wins in a vintage GTV in a car that looks like the one we both worked on 36 years ago.......

    ... and so it goes...

    Hi Chuck, Thanks for posting the pix of our event, including the yellow 68 that I use to chase Fred around.
    There is a correction that must be made, Bill Modisette's #92 is wrenched by Ray Stephens who also set up my car.
