Friends of Steve McQueen Car Show

Below I pasted a letter I recieved from Ron Harris:

Its for a good worthy cause. We should get as many S Registry/R Gruppe cars to attend

Ray, I believe I spoke to you some time ago about our up coming "Friends of Steve McQueen Fundraiser for the Boy's Republic" car show June 14th at the Boy's Republic in Chino.

I hope we can see a turn out from the R-Gruppe, I am setting up a special area for all Porsches and would like to include your club. If you know how many might attend it would be helpful.Do you have a sign for your club?

You can go to our web site at www.porsche356club.org in the calendar section under events there is a pdf. file that can be copied and handed out. You're welcome to add a copy of it to your web site if you'd like. We'll have some of Steve's old cars and motorcycles on dispaly in the infiled of the baseball field flanked by all the Porsches in the outfield.

The In-N-Out Burger wagon will be there from 10 to 1:30, coffee and donuts in the morning from the Boy's Republic and a one time only event T-shirt for sale. This is a simple no frills event, no judging, just come and show off your car and see everyone elses. From race cars to hot rods and everthing in between and ll the proceeds go to the Boy's Republic where Steve was a resident/student before going into the Marines and becoming a famous movie star.

Matt Stone from Motor Trend magazine will be there too, to sign his recently released book "McQueen's Machines"

Please feel free to call me if you have any questions, I live just down the street from you in Bayshores.

    car count

    Okay,

The Steve McQueen Car Show in Chino is next week. I would like to have a car count toreserve enough parking spaces. I think it would be pretty sad if we did not have a good turnout.

Every thread with McQueen's name has many replies, and even more hits. Now its time for the community to give back.

Please add your name to the RSVP

    Thanks

Wish I could go to that. What a really good reason to drive and show your early 911. McQueen was an orphan and never forgot where he came from.

If this event were in the Midwest, we'd have early 911's coming from 5 States or more. You guys have too many events out there!!
