Adapting early SWB horn grill to later SWB fenders

Has anyone devised a clever way to adapt the early SWB 4-screw chrome horn grills to a later SWB two screw horn grill's fender?

Better four screw grills and NO pits than pitted two screw horn grills in my book!

    Thanks,

Have the body shop weld in some tabs.

That's exactly what was done with my car. A previous owner had substituted some later body parts on the front left side and that included a two screw grill.

Thanks for the idea about welding in tabs. Ol' Blue ('67 912) is sporting fresh paint so the welding option is off the table. Ideas anyone?

    Thanks!

    How about this...

I haven't seen how the early four screw horn grilles mount, but how about this? Make two small tabs that you can use as "adapters" and drill three holes in each of them. Mount them vertically on each side using the center holes to attach to the fenders, and then mount the horn grilles to the tabs using the top and bottom holes.
