I also saw that add today. This car could be a 64, even if its not nr. 234 or lower. 236 could have been built before 232 as an example. Most probably one of the first 65’s. Guess it’s difficult to find out without the original factory books. Varunan posted a picture of the factory books a week ago with the first 30-40 901’s. Anyhow without the engine it’s probably a lot less sought after.

Does anyone else make out the paint code as 6410 Dolphin Grey, special order for 1964/65?

two years plus a hundred grand, plus a motor;an expensive project
My sources say special order:
http://www.356-911.com/modelinfo/911...911colours.htm
http://www.912registry.org/restore/pcode.htm
Not super special (as in one of a kind), but still special order.
don't need another, but I have two early engines #'s 900826 and 903347,both circa 64-65;s so I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE NICE TO PUT A MORE CORRECT MOTOR IN THE CAR with a restoration
a little expensive project

You bought it?
PS: is that a flat rear panel?

Thanks for the listing of this car. I would have missed it.
It's a very early January 1965 car with a number of the "tell's" including that flat rear latch panel. It has period correct details to match the stamped chassis number.
It appears to have some odd fun stuff too - like that different ID tag with (chassis number) Fahrgestell-Nr. 750641, right beside the stamped chassis #300 238. I wonder if it comes with any history? (Boy these cars have character...)
And, rust - it's a flintstones model.
It is one of the earliest 50 cars still known to exist in the world. Hope someone will save it.
