    Rare Early Seats

These aren't mine, but I thought they might be of interest to some here:

Recaro Racing Seats from 1968 Porsche

The seat without the turnbuckles looks just like one I bought not too long ago.

    Gentlemen,
Please school me. I do not understand how either seat belong to a SWB factory sports purpose vehicle. Is the description accurate "These original Porsche RECARO seats were delivered new in this 1968 Porsche 911S (Euro Model) seen in the background of the seat photos. This was a very unique 911 that was also fitted with a 100 liter fuel tank and other Rally options."?
The tilting brackets look correct but both seats do not look correct for a SWB. I thought the "turnbuckles" were more of an RS feature. To me the early Recaro buckets have "4 legs" at the base - not straight across at the rails.
Again, the description leads me to believe I have not learned enough about SWB Recaro bucket seats and options.

EDIT: Plus both seats have the peanut shape headrest as opposed to the D shaped headrest.

I wonder what the story with the car is. It looks like you can see the bottom of the Targa bar in the photo.

Bob - you're correct - as far as I know, neither of those Recaro models were available in '68.

Seat Policeman visited me via PM. Basically I did not get cited for my concerns.

I'm curious about what these seats actually are. I don't know anything about the one with the turnbuckles -- the other one looks like the driver seat of the pair I recently bought here, but it's hard to tell if it's identical. Eric sold another pair that appeared to just like the seats I bought. He referred to the driver's seat as a "rally bucket".

Pictures of the set I bought here

It's hard to find information about the various early seats - hoping to learn more about them here

John - if you look at the seat (fixed bucket version) you bought from Frank Beck, you'll notice the 'feet' that Bob referred to in his earlier post.

That is the type you'd expect to find in a swb car :
