    '68 911 Vintage hotrod F/S

I am selling my Ivory '68 coupe. This one is not for the 'by the numbers' and 'keep it original' crowd. It's low, loud, fast, and basically all new and sorted from front to back. This is not your average SWB 911. I am asking $39,500.00 OBO. There's an ebay ad that does a good job of describing what it is. Item number 300275330967 (if someone could please ad the link for me). Please email or PM me with any specific questions. Thanks, John

That is one sweet hotrod. I don't see how it could possibly be built for that price. Here's the link.

    John,

I can't believe that you're selling this car. You must have one hell of a project replacing it.

To any potential buyers, this car is a ROCKET and is a righteous car on EITHER coast.
The car is geared right and this motor pulls to 8000 ( I've driven it)

I don't know how anyone could duplicate this car for less than 60k !!!

I have bought a car (and many parts) from John and he stands behind his work 100%

Nice one. Want some BMW's? I've got a garage full though they only have 2 wheels.

    Good luck,

Thanks all for the positive comments and appreciation of what I have tried to create with this 911. It's been fun building this one, and even more fun driving it.

I have had a lot of interest and some offers. The price, while listed as 'OBO', is a super bargin for someone as it is, and I am not going to stray too far from this figure if this car is to be sold. I will take partial car and/or parts trades. One member asked if I would sell w/o the motor, which I would gladly do (I have a '67 sunroof hotrod to put it into and this motor is such a great match for a SWB chassis).

Mac, is your '69S any further along since we last spoke?

Here are a few more photos of some small details. The sunvisors are like new, complete and correct '65 engine lid w/ all emblems attatched and plate lights working, really nice dash, even has a brand new gas cap ...

Looks like my car is going to sell, either through ebay or behind the scenes. I wanted to post a little more in regards to the history of the motor.

It was built by Sam Lancellotti of the LA area and put into this '72 914-6 that belonged to him, and I now own (see photo). The compression and leak down numbers are phenomenal and it has approx. 10,000 miles on it since the build. Upon removal from the 914, the motor was taken down to the case and cam towers. We replaced all seals and gaskets, including front and rear main seals and basically detailed the motor to look brand new again. Tall PMO intakes were installed and it took a while to get the air/fuel mixture set correctly, but it is now spot on. The cams are a special grind that Sam spec'd and allow the motor to rev quickly and freely through out it's 7.500 RPM range. It doesn't have that feeling of a power 'switch' being thrown on at 3,500 RPM like a normal 2.2S engine. With the tall manifolds it has the torque down low and really moves along till you get to 4,800 when all hell breaks loose.

Even though the front main seal was replaced, there is a small drip from what looks like the metal gasket between the case and the front main bearing housing. You would have to break the case open to replace this, and I am not going to do that. It only leaves a dime sized oil drop on the ground when the car is parked. Everything else on the underside is dry.

There have been members inquiring if I would sell the car w/o the motor, and I posted I would. The price I would be willing to do this for is $32,500.00. If you have your own motor, and want us to install it, this can be done for an additional $70/hr. plus any additional parts needed.

    Beautiful car John.
People always seem to ask about where the good cars are, and then go off and buy something that will separate even more cash from their wallet in body/paint work after.
If you like rods, then this would seem to fit the bill of being the finished product. Best of luck with sale.
