Rust Free 1965 manufacture 912 roller FS

I have a 1965 manufacture 912 shell for sale, #452169. Production before December, 1965. Non adjustable front struts, washer bottle on the inner fender, "bumps" on both sides of trunk latch panel with VIN tag up by the gas tank. Some damage to rear which has been professionally pulled on a Celette bench, shell is ready to have quarters fitted. Available as a package only with NEW manufacture front fenders and rear quarters, inner rockers and a spare set of doors.

I bought this shell to use in restoring my '66 but it's too nice and too early to cut up for that, it should be used for the restoration of a '64 or '65. It happens to be sitting at Series900, which is one of the premier early 911 restoration shops on the East Coast.

Unmolested, rust-free shells are extremely difficult to find, particularly a '65. When you do find a '65, it usually has RUST, a lot of it. And shipping from wherever you may find it is expensive. I have looked at a lot of junk over the years, cars sitting in barns, under trees, with Fred Flintstone floors, swiss cheese fender joining panels. Rust issues coupled with unreaslistic valuation expectations from sellers AND the uncertainty of a long-distance transaction make the process a frustrating one. Hence I am offering this as a package, no games, no BS, for the serious restorer who wants a solid basis for the restoration of a very early car, and it's already sitting at the restoration shop. No waiting for the factory sheet metal which is frequently sold out when you go to actually order it (vs. the places that show it "in stock" but they don't actually have physical possession of the pieces).

$12,500 for the package including NEW factory fenders and quarters (current list around $5,600 from Stoddard), FOB Sunapee, NH. Shell will be delivered as a roller on steel wheels including 1965 "gray" gas tank, window frames, glass and other associated parts. As is, no warranties.

I have a 36 page document with detailed description and photos, qualified buyers are invited to PM me with your email address. Thanks for looking.

Bump back to the top. The recent appreciation of the Euro should make this palatable for the Continental buyer.

Rear has been pulled on the Celette bench, ready for rear quarters to be installed.

You simply cannot ask for a better starting point for a 64 or 65 restoration. Car is sitting at the restoration shop already, saving a prospective buyer thousands in shipping costs (even with the reduction in diesel it would STILL cost you a couple thousand to move a car like this across the country).

You just don't find them like this, non-adjustable strut tops, '65 washer location.

The price is only going to increase, the longer this thing sits the more I am going to advance it in the restoration process. Once the quarters are hung there will be a major step function in valuation reflecting the labor cost. When the shell is in paint it's going all the way.

The economic boom brought a lot of marginal cars out of the woodwork for restoration, many of which don't make sense now. The market is retrenching to quality and cars that will hold value in ANY economic environement. I submit that the first thousand cars, with their early quirks and details, represent an era of the 911 that ALL collectors value, vs. highly modified one-offs that are no longer original. A shell like this is the key to realizing the value of the restoration of an early car like that.

EU buyers, I will ship this car to the EU and will work with international buyers to complete the necessary paperwork.
