The problem I found with the after market targa seal was it made the targa top sit high at the front corners of the windshield. I think it was about 1/4". I spent 3-4 hrs. trimming the bottom side of the seal and test fitting until I got it flush. After you've got it fitting correctly, glue in place with 3m black sealant. Install the top and lock it down until the sealer dries. By patient and take your time.

My mechanic told me it would take him a few hours to fit it. I wouldn't have believe him until I did it.

Call Dan and speak with him. As mentioned in your other post, he has been generous with advice. I purchased the seal, but have not yet installed it, so I cannot answer you myself. I decided to purchase from Dan based upon his rep, and info he provided.

He was the prime mover in getting the new correct seals (Porsche only supplies later targa seals that are no use to early cars) made.

He posts on pelican various targa tech issues such as targa top latch
