Stu, that is a washer bottle from a '66 or '67 911. Try Hershey swap meet.

There was another bottle I've seen in the 72 ST's , that differs from the one pictured above. It was also used in the 935's. (NOT the 72/73 washer bottle; its does not fit correctly with the oil tank breather hoses that the 72 chassis has)
Any leads on that one?

Stu, the factory race cars used the early 911 washer bottle, it fits really well.
Here's a 'werks' engine bay with one fitted, and my recreation using one. As my car's a 72 I've swopped the oil pipes over so as the breather goes straight into the bottle.

Stu:
I used a brake reservoir overflow container from the 72/73 cars because it fits better (I think) than the washer bottles. It has a notch that matches the oil console quite nicely. I ran the breather hose like Mike did straight into the side. It has a breather opening on the back side (but higher up) similar to the one I plugged on the front, and has slightly more capacity than the washer bottle.
I like to think that a clever privateer from the day would have used this tank, as they seemed to have used many different types over the years.
I have both the early type and 72 type, but for now I am sticking with this one.

Yes, you would be right...I have just stripped them out of a couple of cars not really noticing where they were connected. I guess it would take all the brake fluid and then some to fill one of these up. Weren't they only used in 72/73?
